McDonald’s Staff Could Obtain $50K for Alerting Law enforcement of “Facebook Killer” Steve Stephens’ Whereabouts

If you see one thing, say one thing. McDonald’s workforce in Erie, Pennsylvania followed this motto and subsequently ended the nationwide manhunt for the “Facebook Killer,” Steve Stephens.

Immediately after killing seventy four-calendar year-previous Robert Godwin Sr. on Easter Sunday (Apr. 16) in Cleveland and uploading movie footage of the murder on Facebook, law enforcement discovered “Stevie Steve” Stephens in Erie County on Tuesday (Apr. 18). A brief law enforcement chase ensued till Stephens’ motor vehicle was forcibly stopped by a law enforcement tactic and he dedicated suicide.

Law enforcement were alerted of Stephens’ whereabouts by McDonald’s workforce. About 11 a.m., Stephens approached the McDonald’s drive-thru in Harborcreek Township. Her requested twenty chicken nuggets and a substantial fry.

Even so, one particular of the workforce thought the customer seemed familiar. Other workforce seen the customer’s motor vehicle and established it was the “Facebook Killer.”

The Mickey D’s workforce reacted to the condition and devised a plan to delay Stephens. “We instructed him his fries were going to be a minute,” reported Henry Sayers, the McDonald’s supervisor. Stephens received his twenty nuggets, but whilst he waited for his fries, a McDonald’s worker termed law enforcement.

“I am really confident he figured that we were on to him. He did not wait for his fries,” reported Thomas DuCharme Jr., the restaurant’s operator and operator. “He just took his nuggets and reported, ‘I have to go,’” additional Sayers.

Stephens drove off at a normal speed without having his fries and was stopped about 5 miles from the McDonald’s. He dedicated suicide in advance of he was apprehended. While a trigger of demise was not straight away released, it’s assumed Stephens shot himself. An autopsy is expected to be performed on Wednesday.

Law enforcement have referred to the McDonald’s worker that tipped them as a “concerned citizen.” While not formal, law enforcement say the tipster (and quite possibly other McDonald’s workforce included) could get the $50,000 reward that was formerly announced by the Cleveland mayor for Stephens’ capture.
